PADT mulls over new techniques to clean up Bagmati
KATHMANDU: The Pashupati Area Development Trust (PADT) plans to introduce bio-toilet technology to rid the Bagmati River of polluted water in a stretch from Guheshwari to Tilganga, officials informed.
PADT Member-Secretary Pradip Dhakal said that authorities are running a feasibility study and works on project implementation would be initiated once the study-team submits its reports.
The project aims to introduce bio-toilets that decompose human excretory waste and discharge purified water into the river flowing through Pashupati Temple vicinity to make it fit for rituals.
Meanwhile, 37 metric tonnes of waste was managed today in the course of the clean-up campaign carried out in the rivers and various places along the Ring Road area in the Kathmandu valley.
