Party wants BRB to rethink

KATHMANDU:  Unified CPN-Maoist on Saturday expressed astonishment to at abrupt  resignation of its leader Baburam Bhattarai and said he would rethink  his decision. “Tendering resignation abruptly when the party is  scheduled to hold its Central Committee meeting to discuss the  contemporary issues is abnormal, especially when  the meeting was called with his consent. We hope, he will rethink his  decision,” said party Spokesperson Dinanath Sharma in a statement. He  said consultations between party Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal and him  were being held in a cordial environment and there were possibilities of  addressing his concerns through discussions. He quit the party when the  country was in an adverse situation after promulgation of the new  constitution as there was need of unity among people. Meanwhile, Madhesi  Rastriya Mukti Morcha Nepal (Revolutionary) welcomed Bhattarai’s  decision and said in a statement it was a happy coincidence as the  resignation had come when the Madhesi people were struggling for their rights.
