Peace rally in Bhaktapur

Bhaktapur, April 28

Bhaktapur Jaycees, Bhaktapur Women Jaycees and Bhaktapur Junior Jaycees organised a peace rally today chanting slogans like "We want development and not destruction" and "We want peace and not murder."

The peace rally was initiated by president of CEWIN Gauri Pradhan by releasing a pair of white pigeons, the symbol of peace. The rally participated in by the representatives of various institutions, social workers, students, intellectuals, sportsmen and office bearers of the Jaycess which started from the historical Durbar Square had marched through the main thoroughfares of Bhaktapur Municipality.

At the conclusion of the peace rally, CEWIN president Pradhan urged the government and all concerned to speedily end the present crisis in order to create a congenial atmosphere for development works by maintainingg law and order in the country.

At the function chaired by president of Bhaktapur Jaycees Sricharan Amatya, president of Bhaktapur Women Jaycees Krishneswori Rajbhandari, president of Bhaktapur Junior Jaycees Swarup Singh Khadka, convenor Madhusudan Hada and others urged all to follow the path of peace.
