KATHMANDU, MAY 7
Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal has pledged to initiate high-level diplomatic efforts to repatriate Nepali nationals serving in the Russian Army.
He made this statement during a meeting with members of a campaign aimed at saving the lives of Nepalis serving in the Russian Army at the official residence of the Prime Minister in Baluwatar today.
"The Office of the Prime Minister is committed to addressing your demands," he stated, adding, "The government has been consistently pursuing diplomatic initiatives. Initiatives have been undertaken through diplomatic channels."
The Prime Minister emphasized that the government has been actively involved in safeguarding the lives of Nepali citizens and assured that he was dedicated to addressing the demands of the families of Nepalis recruited in the Russian Army.
PM Dahal also mentioned that he had personally communicated with Nepalis in the war zone, and discussions about their condition were ongoing through diplomatic channels.
Earlier, families of Nepalis serving in the Russian Army had staged a sit-in in Kathmandu, demanding the repatriation of those recruited. The sit-in was called off after Prime Minister Dahal's Public Relations Expert, Buddhi GC, committed to addressing their demands.
As per this commitment, Prime Minister Dahal today met with the family members and pledged to bring back the Nepalis serving in the Russian Army.
