KATHMANDU, AUGUST 31
Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli and the Prime Minister of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, Pham Minh Chinh, held a bilateral meeting today on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Summit in China.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the two leaders discussed various dimensions of cultural, diplomatic, and economic relations as well as prospects for enhanced cooperation between Nepal and Vietnam.
On the occasion, Prime Minister Chinh recalled the recent Nepal visit of Vietnamese Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan and extended an invitation to Prime Minister Oli to visit Vietnam.
Expressing Nepal's solidarity with Vietnam's freedom movement, Prime Minister Oli remarked that Vietnam's remarkable progress in a short span of time serves as an inspiration to many nations.
He also noted that Nepal is set to graduate to the status of a developing country next year and urged Vietnam to explore investment opportunities in Nepal's energy sector.
Prime Minister Oli further invited his Vietnamese counterpart to visit Nepal.
