PM urges all political parties to unite for constitution writing

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister and Nepali Congress President Sushil Koirala urged all political parties to be united for the constitution drafting process.

Releasing a book titled 'Bandi Jeevan Ka Anubhutiharu' (Feelings of Imprisoned Life) by NC Central Committee member, Gururaj Ghimire  in the Capital on Saturday, Prime Minister Koirala said that all should move ahead through discussion rather than launching agitation as the country would move ahead in the path of development along with new constitution promulgation.

He said, "We should involve in maintaining law and order in the country and to ensure rights of women, Dalits, Muslims and indigenous nationalities. So, there is no necessity of launching agitation."

PM Koirala shared that constitution writing and holding the party’s 13th general convention were his two main jobs to accomplish.

He admitted that necessary preparations for party's general convention were not carried out as the leaders were engaged in constitution writing task even if the date of the party’s general convention round the corner.

Also speaking at the programme, CPN-UML leader Keshav Prasad Badal lauded the talents of Ghimire terming the latter as a multi-dynamic one.

Likewise, NC leaders Surendra Raj Pandey and Badri Pandey shared their ideas about the book.
