Public schools in limbo for Day 2

KATHMANDU: The protest called by the Relief Teachers’ Central Struggle Committee (RTCSC ) continued for the second day, due to which all public schools remained closed on Monday as well. They had given a three day ultimatum to the government to address their demands.

They have demanded that all the relief teachers should be made permanent through internal competition without age limit and award them facilities as permanent teachers.

There are at least 38,000 relief teachers appointed during the Maoist insurgency according to the data provided by the Ministry of Education.

They relief teachers have been agitating for the last six months.
