Bhaktapur, August 15:

Experts today said that community people should be made aware of earthquakes to mitigate possible damages in educational institutions.

Speaking at a programme Shankar Prasad Pandey, secretary at the Ministry of Education and Sports, said, “Community people should be given the task of building government schools to enable them to learn ways to build earthquake-resistant buildings.”

He said, “The government has not been able to construct earthquake-resistant school buildings.”
