KATHMANDU, MARCH 24

The hearing on writ petitions filed at the Supreme Court challenging the decision to withdraw charges of organized crime and money laundering against Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) President Rabi Lamichhane will continue on Thursday.

According to Supreme Court spokesperson Ajun Prasad Koirala, the proceedings will resume tomorrow as the hearing could not be concluded today. The hearing commenced on Tuesday before a division bench comprising Justices Binod Sharma and Abdul Aziz Musalman.

Earlier, a separate division bench of Justices Sapana Pradhan Malla and Shrikant Poudel had directed that the petitions be listed for regular hearing.

Attorney General Sabita Bhandari Baral had decided to withdraw the cases related to money laundering and organized crime filed against Lamichhane.

Advocates Yubaraj Poudel, Dinesh Tripathi, and Abhas Regmi had filed separate writ petitions at the Supreme Court, challenging the decision.
