Rain of funds for flood-hit continues
Kathmandu, August 5:
Government staffers continued to donate funds for the welfare of flood victims today. Joint secretaries of the Ministry of General Administration have donated amounts equalling their two days’ salary to the rescue and relief trust instituted to assist flood victims across the country.
Other employees of the ministry have donated one day’s salary to the trust.
The gazetted first class officers of the Department of Postal Services pledged two days’ salary, while other officials of the department donated one day’s salary.
Also depositing to the Prime Minister’s Natural Calamity Relief Fund are the director General of the Department of Prison Management and the director who have donated their four and three days’ salary. The officer-level employees and non-gazetted employees have donated two days’ and one day’s salary.
The gazetted employees of the Inland Revenue Department have decided to donate amount worth their two days’ salary while the non-gazetted employees of the department have decided to donate one day’s salary.
The administrator of the far-western region has decided to donate five days’ salary, while second and third-class employees of the Regional Administration Office have decided to donate three and two days’ salary. Spice Nepal also sent relief materials worth Rs 4.26 lakh to the flood-hit. A release issued by Spice Nepal yesterday said the fund was collected from its employees. The relief materials include blankets, food items and drugs. Relief materials have been sent to Nepalgunj and Dhangadi, the release said.
