Revive democracy, demand students

Seven students’ union members burnt effigies of the ‘unconstitutional royal proclamation’ in various parts of the country today to get their demands fulfilled.
The students took out rallies from Baghbazar which is a prohibited area, Patan, Baneshwor, Maitidevi, Samakhushi, Chabahil, Tahachal and Bakha Bazar of Bhaktapur to protest against the Mahendranagar shoot-out at the students meeting on campus premises. The protest started from All Nepal National Free Students’ Union (ANNFSU) office and burnt the effigies till late in the evening at Kirtipur.
The students are demanding the restoration of democracy and the removal of security personnel and government spies from all campus premises, release of all political detainees, investigation into the Mahendranagar shoot out and action against the culprits and release of all political leaders who were forcefully detained by the Royal Commission for Corruption Control.
The students also demanded that they be allowed to conduct political and educational activities in the colleges.
