Roj Rana attack suspects detained
KATHMANDU: Two absconding persons, who allegedly attacked film producer Roj Rana with a khukuri on Monday, have been arrested on Tuesday.
The 28-year-old Bibechan Prajapati (aka Mote), a permanent resident of Siddhapokhari, Bhaktapur district, and 18-year-old Surya Lama (aka Katunje), a permanent resident of Katunje-6 in Dhading district, were arrested from Naya Bazaar, KMC-16.
Prajapati has been identified as the attacker in the incident. He had been residing in Naya Bazaar area of the Capital.
Lama assisted him by giving a ride on his motorbike, police added.
Meanwhile, the mastermind behind the incident, Ratna Bahadur Lama aka Jodha (28) of Challebhumle in Bhulungtar, Kavre district is still on the run, police added.
The motorbike (Ba 32 Pa, 3831) used in the crime has been impounded, police added.
The detained suspects told police during investigation that they were offered Rs 80,000 to carry out the attack by Ratna Bahadur and promised to give Rs 3 million more after the deed.
The plan was made around three months ago, police said.
