RPP-N, four Madheshi parties boycott CPDCC meet; CA rescheduled for 5 pm
KATHMANDU: Kamal Thapa's Rastriya Prajatantra Party-Nepal and four Madhesh-based parties including Upendra Yada's Madheshi Janaadhikar Forum-Nepal have boycotted the meeting of Constitutional Political Dialogue and Consensus Committee on Sunday.
In the meeting, CPDCC Chairman Baburam Bhattarai presented the report on the revision of first draft of new constitution, including the demarcation of proposed six Pradheshes as per the agreement signed yesterday late night by the top leaders of four major parties.
The members are holding discussion on the proposed federal states and demarcation of their boundaries, and other issues that the major parties settled.
After getting its endorsed, the CPDCC would forward the report to the full house of Constituent Assembly, which has been rescheduled for 5 pm.
The CA meeting was earlier scheduled for 1 pm. But as the CPDCC is yet to finish its business regarding finalisation of the revised draft of new constitution after the breakthrough agreement yesterday in the wake of public feedback collection, the meeting was rescheduled.
Likewise, the meeting of Legislature-Parliament, earlier set for 3 pm, will be held at 5:30, according to the Parliament Secretariat.
