KATHMANDU: UCPN-Maoist chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal met Indian Ambassador to Nepal Rakesh Sood at his residence in Nayabazar on Sunday.

During the meet Sood expressed his concern over the ongoing protests of the Maoists. He also requested Prachanda to help the government by quitting the protest.

He also brought up the remark made by the Maoist chairman to hold talks with India, in his speech on the last day of the three-day general strike earlier.

He held an hour long discussion with Dahal prior to his departure for New-Delhi.

Sood is leaving for India for a regular briefing today.
