Speaker Mahara takes oath of office and secrecy
KATHMANDU: The newly elected Speaker of the House of Representatives Krishna Bahadur Mahara has taken the oath of office and secrecy on Sunday morning.
President Bidya Devi Bhandari had administered the oath of office and secrecy to him at a function organised at the President's Office, Shital Niwas, in Maharajgunj this morning.
The CPN Maoist Centre leader was unanimously elected to the post of speaker on Saturday.
Vice-President Nanda Bahadur Pun, Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, Chief Justice Gopal Prasad Parajuli, ministers, and high level officials among others were present in the meeting.
