KATHMANDU: A local struggle committee on Thursday has submitted a memorandum to Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli demanding reconstruction of earthquake-devastated Dharahara.

The local struggle committee with the motto 'Save our National Heritage, Rebuild Dharahara' submitted the memorandum to the PM with signatures.

Struggle Committee Coordinator Bed Prakash Gautam said that the memorandum was submitted to remind the government about rebuilding Dharahara.

The memo was submitted to the PM though his personal secretary Yubaraj Dahal. The document stated that construction of any commercial building in the surroundings of Dharahara should not be carried out and the site should be developed as a tourist spot.

The committee had collected signatures during March 21-23 demanding immediate action for Dharahara reconstruction.
