Student union locks HSEB, Education Department offices

BHAKTAPUR: All Nepal National Independent Students' Union-Revolutionary, the student wing of the CPN-Maoist, padlocked the offices of the Department of Education and the Higher Secondary Education Board on Tuesday.

The students padlocked the offices citing that the offices failed to implement the past agreements signed with them. HSEB Chair Dilli Rimal, however, said that though they were working as per the agreement, the students locked the offices all of a sudden.

Similarly, HSEB Vice-Chair Dr Chaitanya Sharma commented that such activity of the students of padlocking the offices without coming for dialogue was objectionable although they were called for dialogue.

On the other hand, union Chair Sharad Rasaili said that they were compelled to padlock the offices as the offices failed to implement the past agreement of reducing the fees in private schools.
