Bhaktapur, May 19:

Bhaktapur district monitoring committee today made surprise visits to various government offices and found a few government employees out of the office during office hours.

The committee found two employees of the survey department out of station. “The office head could not furnish an appropriate explanation for their absence,” said coordinator of the committee, Rajendra Prasad Lakha.

The committee inspected four government offices and organisations and issued directives in a report for making improvements in their performance by rectifying their flaws and problems.

Coordinator Lakha has directed the civil servants to provide quick and fair services to the people and keep all transactions transparent. Earlier today, the team had found two employees at land reforms office and one at land revenue office out of station. Lakha said the fire-fighting team was lacking a chief. “Even the responsibility has not been transferred to other employees.”
