Temp cop passes out at KMC vote counting venue

KATHMANDU: A temporary policewoman, who was deputed at the Rastriya Sabha Griha where vote counting of Kathmandu Metropolitan City is underway, passed out while on duty on Monday afternoon.

She is identified as Sumitra Ghalan.

After she fell unconscious, Ghalan was taken to the adjoining Mahendra Police Club, Bhrikutimandap for treatment.

The government had recruited 75,000 temporary police personnel for the local level elections.

Voting concluded in 281 local levels in 34 districts of three provinces in the first phase yesterday.
