Tensions flared in the Baneshwor-Koteshwor area after a clash between royalist protesters and police at Tinkune, Kathmandu.
The confrontation erupted when demonstrators attempted to move toward New Baneshwor, breaching the restricted area.
In response, security forces intervened and detained several youths for defying the restrictions.
Police have also blocked protesters from crossing the Tinkune bridge toward Baneshwor.
As the situation escalated, police fired tear gas to disperse the demonstrators, leading to chaos and panic among the crowd.
