KATHMANDU: A team of police deployed by the Metropolitan Police Sector, Balkhu has arrested three persons in possession of one kilogram of counterfeit gold.

The arrestees have been identified as Gopal BK (28) and Shiva Kumar Kumal (27) of Dang, and Sanjaya Kumar Tiruwa (27) of Salyan, according to the Sector.

They were arrested on Tuesday night and were made public today. Police held them with the fake gold stashed in a vehicle (Ba 10 Cha 8992) in front of Royal Guest House in Balkhu during regular checking, shared Metropolitan Police Office Spokesperson, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Puja Singh.

Police have seized an electronic weighing machine, a pair of scissors and Rs 3,665,000 from their possession.

Further investigation into the case is underway, police said.
