Three injured while demolishing damaged houses

KATHMANDU: Three persons were injured in the Valley in the past two days while demolishing the houses damaged by the recent earthquakes.

The roof of a mud house collapsed at Baneshwar, KMC-12 on Sunday, injuring Suraj Shrestha (26) and his wife Hema Shrestha (28). Hema is said to be critical.

The couple were rushed to the Min Bhawan-based Civil Hospital after the incident.

Hema has been referred to the Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital in Maharajgun, considering severity of her injuries.

Earlier on Saturday, Prakash Man Ghalan was critically injured after walls of a house that was being demolished collapsed and buried him. He was currently residing at Nallu of Laltipur.

Ghalan was taken to Chapagaun-based Ananda Ban Hospital first. On Sunday, he was referred to TUTH.
