Toll free telephone to solve Kathmandu Valley water woes

KATHMANDU: Have complaints to lodge with, but don’t have proper access to? If the answer is yes then you will have a toll free telephone number at your convenience to put forth the problems and complaints to the authority concerned about drinking water supply in Kathmandu Valley.

The toll free facility comes in the wake of hue and cry over the government’s apathy towards the users, distribution of undrinkable water, less or no supply of water and compulsion of paying tariff-for-no-water-supply among others.

Speaking at a function organised in Kathmandu today, Rudra Gautam, Managing Director of the Kathmandu Upatyaka Khanepani Limited said that the toll free telephone number (166 00 122202) will remain open round-the-clock at the service of water users.

“The technicians at Kathmandu Upatyaka Khanepani Limited will provide door-to-door service acting on the complaints lodged by the consumers,” Gautam claimed.

Gautam also claimed that Kathmandu Upatyaka Khanepani Limited was able to bridge the yawning gap between demand and supply of water and said it was using all-out efforts to explore additional sources of water to ensure that the Valley denizens can get respite from acute shortage of the major staple.
