Two killed in Valley accidents
KATHMANDU: Two persons were killed in separate road accidents in Kathmandu Valley on Sunday.
An 18-year-old youth died after a tipper (Na 4 Kha 722) he was travelling on fell into a rivulet near the Nikhileshwor Temple in Budhanilakantha-9 of Kathmandu.
He was working as an assistant to the driver of the vehicle, according to police.
The driver John Shrestha (23) was injured and is undergoing treatment at the Chabahil-based Om Hospital.
In another case, a tipper skidded off the road and fell around 50 metres down, killing its driver on the spot.
The vehicle (Ba 2 Kha 7293) had fallen off the road after the driver Rajeev Tamang (33) lost the control over it, in Bajrabarahi-11 of Lalitpur.
The driver's assistant was injured and is undergoing treatment at the Patan Hospital.
Local police are looking into both cases.
