KATHMANDU, NOVEMBER 14
The UK–Nepal International Skills Partnership has been named one of the five winners of the British Council Going Global Partnerships Awards 2025.
The award was announced at the Going Global 2025 conference in London on October 28. Education Secretary Choodamani Paudel received the award on behalf of Nepali partners.
The partnership involves multiple UK institutions and Nepali organisations, including FNCCI and CTEVT, and is supported by the British Council to strengthen Nepal's green skills ecosystem. It has helped the government establish the Green Skills Advisory Board (GSAB), comprising MoEST, CTEVT, FNCCI, CNI, and FCAN.
Secretary Paudel said the recognition highlights "excellent collaboration" between the UK and Nepal, expressing hope that GSAB would significantly advance Nepal's green skills development.
British Council Nepal Country Director Rustom Mody said the partnership reflects "the power of public-private collaboration in shaping a sustainable and future-ready workforce."
The awards honour impactful global education projects aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals. Other winning partnerships came from Pakistan, China, Egypt, and Nigeria.
