UML blocking resolution to current crisis, claims Rana
KATHMANDU: Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) National Chairman Pashupati Shamsher Rana has accused the main opposition CPN-UML of blocking the ways to resolve the current national crisis.
Speaking at an interaction programme in Bhaktapur district on Tuesday, Rana said that the much-awaited local election was also overshadowed due to UML’s protest programmes including the House obstruction against the Constitution amendment bill.
Rana also accused that the UML had been obstructing the Parliament forgetting a previous agreement among major parties including Nepali Congress, UML and CPN Maoist Centre about delineation of provincial boundaries.
The UML's activities could invite further crisis in the country, Rana warned.
He claimed that the country would face the Constitutional crisis if local polls were not held on time.
Rana, however, made clear that his party was against the provision in the Constitution amendment bill that any language could be used for official works, though it was also a part of the government which broungh the amendment bill.
Adding that the RPP was for two provinces in Madhes, Rana also emphasised that legitimate demands of the Madhes-based parties should be addressed.
Rana also criticised the government for neglecting reconstruction and relief for earthquake survivors.
Meanwhile, speaking in a different context, Rana said his party would launch a campaign to reestablish the Hindu state though it seemed immediately impossible now.
