UML CC meet starts today

Kathmandu, August 4:

A standing committee meeting of the CPN-UML, chaired by party general secretary Madhav Kumar Nepal, today set the agenda of discussions for the party’s 12th central committee meeting scheduled to begin tomorrow. The meeting is expected to continue for a week.

Jhala Nath Khanal, a standing committee member, said Nepal will present a political report while Deputy Prime Minister and Defence Minister KP Sharma Oli, who is the UML team leader in the government, is expected to present a report on the performance of the government formed after the April movement that brought an end to the King’s direct rule.

Central committee members will also discuss issues related to peace and reforms and the party’s stance on the peace process and CA elections.
