UML Chair KP Sharma Oli visits book fair
KATHMANDU: CPN-UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli on Sunday visited the grand book fair in Kamaladi of the Capital.
The book exhibition is organised by Nepal Academy and Sajha Publications with an aim to develop reading culture.
UML Chair Oli bought some books by Mahakavi Laxmi Prasad Devkota, late Nepali Congress founding leader and former Prime Minister BP Koirala and other litterateurs and writers.
He purchased Devkota's masterpiece 'Muna Madan', Rastrakavi Madhav Prasad Ghimire's elegy 'Gauri', BP Koirala's 'Aaphno Katha', 'Sumnima' and 'Tin Ghumti', Kumar Bahadur Joshi's 'Devkota Ko Kabitakriti Ko Kalkramik Bibechana', Nitya Raj Pandey's 'Mahakavi Devkota', Madan Mani Dixit's 'Madhavi', Diamond Shumsher Rana's 'Seto Bagh', Bhupi Sherchan's 'Ghumne Mechmathi Andho Manchhe', Yadunath Khanal's 'Yadunath Khanal Ka Samalochana' among two dozen books.
Oli also purchased Dayaram Shrestha's 'Bhimnidhi Tiwari Ka Rachana', Damodar Pudasaini Kishor's 'Aaphanta Ka Anuhar', Bishnu Prabhat's 'Govinda Bhatta Ka Darshanik Rachana', Govinda Lohani's 'Govinda Lohani Ka Rachana', and 'Dinabhadri' – a Maithili newspaper published by the Academy.
Sajha Prakashan Chairman and Managing Director Dolindra Prasad Sharma briefed the UML leader on the exhibition which will last until October 13.
