KATHMANDU, APRIL 30

Minister of Water Supply Mani Chandra Thapa has tested positive for the coronavirus infection.

The report of his swab samples that were collected on Thursday for PCR testing resulted in a positive on Friday.

Prior to him being tested, Thapa's daughter was tested positive for the infection too. The swab samples of all the members of his secretariat was collected thereafter.

Minister Thapa had been involved in various activities including meeting of the council of ministers as late as April 27 relating to the Melamchi Drinking Water Supply Project.

Earlier, on April 27, Minister for Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation, Top Bahadur Rayamajhi, had tested positive for the coronavirus infection.
