Woman killed in fire

Kathmandu: Sangita Rauniyar, 23, on Saturday died in a suspicious incident when she caught fire after a kerosene stove blew up inside a locked room at Balkumari, Asan. Shyam Rauniyar, a local, said Sangita was crying for help in the room at 11:15 am. “We saw flames coming out of the room while she was still crying, and broke into the room, which was closed from inside,” he said. “The incident is quite suspicious as nothing but the woman had caught fire inside the room,” Rauniyar said. A police official at Kathmandu district police office said: “The case is suspicious.” He added the case needs further investigation. — HNS
