KATHMANDU: A man has been arrested on charge of attacking a woman with a sharp weapon in Ratopul, KMC-9 on Wednesday.

Police said the 36-year-old Dhan Bahadur Gahatraj had seriously injured a 34-year-old pedestrian Bimala Oli in Ratopul.

The suspect is a permanent resident of Sundarpur-2 in Morang district, and is currently residing in Chandol of the Capital.

The victim was initially rushed to the nearby Well Care Hospital, which later referred the case to Bir Hospital for further treatment.

After the treatment, the victim is said to be out of danger and can speak, informed police.

Police said investigation into the case is underway.
