KATHMANDU: A youth has been arrested for his alleged involvement in swindling various government and non-government organisations claiming to be Vice-President Nanda Bahadur Pun's son and personal assistant.
Roshan Subedi from Ramche-5 of Sindhupalchok district, currently residing in Kamal Binayak of Bhaktapur, was arrested by a team deployed from the Metropolitan Crime Division on Tuesday.
Earlier, the Central Bureau of Investigation of Nepal Police had arrested him on November 8 and was later released after some legal action, a press statement issued by the MCD today itself.
A preliminary police investigation revealed that the suspect used to make random calls to various government and non-government organisations and demanded Rs 10,000 to 15,000 from each as donation for the CPN Maoist Centre's programmes, as stated in the MCD statement.
Meanwhile, the MCD sent the suspect to the Metropolitan Police Range for further investigation and action.
