KATHMANDU: A person died after the motorcycle he was riding on met with an accident in Teku of KMC-12 on Tuesday night, police said.

The deceased has been identified as Bikki Maharjan (24) of Dhalku Chhetrapati of KMC-17.

According to police, the incident occurred when the speeding motorcycle (Ba 30 Pa 6119) rammed the parked truck (Na 5 Kha 1643) at 11:45 pm yesterday, injuring the motorcyclist Maharjan.

The injured was rushed to the Mahankal-based National Trauma Centre, however, he breathed his last during the course of treatment today, informed Mukunda Marasini Joint-Spokesperson at the Metropolitan Traffic Police Division, Kathmandu.

Meanwhile, police have impounded both vehicles and detained the truck driver for further investigation, said police.
