Ignis igniting excitement

CG MotoCorp, authorised distributor of Maruti Suzuki, will be bringing the much-awaited — Ignis to the Nepali market. The company is expected to introduce the premium hatchback in the domestic market by the end of March.

“Maruti Suzuki Ignis is a car that relates to this generation. It will be a one of a kind vehicles with its tall boy looks and futuristic design,” said Karan Chaudhary, Executive Director at CG MotoCorp. “The product is of right length and with an impressive ground clearance of 180 mm that is perfect for Nepali roads,” he said. Citing that they are confident about increasing and strengthening their market presence in the passenger car segment with this model, Chaudhary said, “The major competitors for Ignis are — KUV100, Grand i10 and Figo.” According to him, the price of the vehicle is yet to be decided (just for reference the price of this vehicle starts at IRs 459,000 in India). He also added that Ignis is a product fit for the younger generation of car buyers.

The new Maruti Suzuki Ignis flaunts an unconventional design. The flat body styling gives it an aggressive and masculine appearance, while the accentuated wheel arches, short overhangs squared headlamps and a sharp C-pillar lends a butch appeal. It features DRL and projector headlamp, sporty all black alloy wheel. Under the hood, the car is mated with 1.2 trial and tested K12 engine that delivers best in class performance and mileage. The 1.2 litre K-Series motor powers the petrol trims churning out 82 bhp at 6000 rpm and 113 Nm of torque at 4200 rpm. Furthermore, it comes with five speed manual and AMT option.

The interior compliments the exterior with a bold and up market feel. Ignis has all the modern amenities that make it convenient and safe. It comes with Nexa Safety Shield — a standard package of Suzuki TECT body, ABS with EBD, ISOFIX child seat anchorage, dual front airbags and seat belt pretensioner. A dual-tone clutter-free dashboard takes prominence with a new four-spoke multifunction steering wheel. For the tech savy, the car comes with infotainment system that is optimised for android and apple devices — Bluetooth, AUX and USB connectivity; climate control, ambient lighting for the instrument cluster with MID unit and toggle switches on the centre console.
