Youth comes to you in a blink of an eye yet only few people grasp the importance of being young and making the most it. With International Youth Day around, TGIF talks with few promising youth icons who have achieved fame early.

What are your achievements and aspirations?
We were the first Netball players of Nepal who got the opportunity to represent the country two times internationally. I would want to encourage girls to get into the game and I constantly remind them that sports are not only for men.
Biggest problem youth face in sports today
The biggest problem is that nobody takes us seriously. Also, the sports council lacks proper structure and provisions.
Is being young just about fun and games?
Being young is definitely not just about fun. To be young is to passionately follow your dreams.

What inspired you to take music seriously?
I was always interested in music but I never thought I would make a career out of it . But ‘Jaalma’ proved to be the turning point in my life. The massive success motivated me to take singing seriously.
How are you different from other people your age?
I got to experience more things at a young age than others. These opportunities groomed me for a more open outlook on life than most people my age.
What does it mean to be young?
To be young is to be wild and free. Whatever life throws at you take it with a pinch of salt.

Current scenario in the music industry:
Currently, the Nepali music industry is filled with many young artists and musicians. What we need now is a platform for promotion of our talent.
Your biggest achievements
My biggest achievements so far is being a part of 1974 AD and getting to sing the legendary music composer Gopal Yonjon’s song.
What does it mean to be young?
To be young is to enjoy life. It is the most crucial phase where you try to find the meaning of your life and enjoy yourself while doing so.

What are the biggest problems youths face in the movie and the fashion industry?
It is the lack of appreciation for talent. There is not much incentive for youth in both the industries.
Does being young only mean having fun?
For me to be young is to discover dreams and ideas.
What do you want to do next?
I don’t plan for future. I just go with the flow and live in the present.
