Kumari Puja in Kathmandu Durbar Square

KATHMANDU: Hundreds of young girls from the Newar community under the age of nine gathered at a temple to offer prayers for good luck, protection from evil, and prevention of diseases, in Kathmandu Durbar Square area, on Kumari Puja today. The girls were adorned as 'Kumari', the 'Living Goddess' while taking part in prayer rituals.
