INARUWA: A person died and five others sustained injuries after the jeep they were travelling on met with an accident in Bhokraha Rural Municipality-4 of Sunsari district on Thursday.

The deceased has been identified as Rubi Yadav (36) of Raypur in Saptari district; injured as Buddalal BK (30) of Bharatpur in Dhanusha district, Ashok Adhikari (22) of Dumre in Tanahun district, Pawan Kumar Yadav (35), Kuldip Yadav (2) and Anshu Yadav (14) all of Raypur in Saptari district.

According to police, the incident occurred when the jeep (Ba 17 Cha 1097) travelling westward lost its control and crashed into a tree while attempting to avoid hitting a cyclist yesterday, killing Rubi Yadav on the spot and injuring the other five.

The injured were rushed to the Biratnagar-based Golden Hospital where they have been undergoing treatment, informed Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Narayan Prasad Chimariya.

Meanwhile, further investigation into the case is underway, said police.
