1 killed, 10 injured in Kulekhani jeep fall

HETAUNDA: A man was killed and 10 others, including two children and two women,  sustained injuries when a Tata Sumo jeep met with an accident at Kulekhani-6 on Tuesday.

According to Makawanpur District Police Office, the ill-fated vehicle (Na 1 Ja 2958) was heading to Kathmandu from Hetaunda with 11 passengers and a driver on board when it fell some 50 metres down the road at around 4:45 pm.

The deceased is yet to be identified. A license found from his body suggested him to be Uttam Kumar Moktan of Shikharpur VDC while a ticket he had was named under Aman Tamang.

The reason behind the accident was immediately not known. Police said the vehicle was travelling on a high speed, which might have resulted in the accident.

The injured have been sent to Kathmandu for treatment, DPO's Spokesperson DSP Bamdev Gautam informed.

It has been learned that the jeep driver is on the run after the fatal accident.
