1 killed as tipper plunges into Ramechhap stream

RAMECHHAP: A teenager died and three persons were injured when a tipper plunged into the Sukajor stream at Machchhedandi of Ramechhap district on Wednesday.

The deceased has been identified as Ramesh Bamjan (18) of Sindhuli, informed the Ramechhap District Police Office.

According to police, Bamjan was a helper of the tipper (Na 1 A 75), which was travelling towards Manthali from Bititar.

Police said the tipper veered off the road and fell some 100 metres down the road into the water while giving a way to a motorcycle heading towards the opposite direction.

In the incident, Kusum Thami (21) of Daduwa in Ramechhap, Mohan Khadka* (20) and tipper driver Ramesh Ghimire of Sindhuli were injured.

One of the injured is being treated at the Tamakoshi Cooperative Hospital in Manthali while two others have been referred to Kathmandu for treatment, police informed.
