RAJBIRAJ: Authorities on Tuesday arrested 12 persons for their alleged involvement in electric power theft in Rajbiraj of  Saptari district.

A joint monitoring team from Nepal Electricity Authority, Rajbiraj and the District Police Office took 12 persons under control for hooking a wire directly to the power transmission pole and stealing electricity, confirmed Ram Udgar Sah Chief of NEA Rajbiraj.

The arrested individuals will be tried under the Electricity Theft Control Act, 2002," said DSP Laxmi Raj Adhikari of Saptari District Police Office.
