DADELDHURA: As many as 13 persons were injured in lightning strikes in various parts of inner Madhes region in Dadeldhura district on Thursday.

The lightning strikes that occurred during a thunder storm yesterday night injured eight persons from Chela of Parshuram Municipality-6 and five from Sadhani of Parshuram Municipality-7 in the district, according to police.

The injured have been identified as Regma Devi Bohara (23), Karna Dhami (45), Harina Damai (27), Lalita Dhami (19), Beladebi Dhami (45), Maya Devi Dhami (25), Sabina Dhami (12), Dhauli Devi Dhami (70), all from Parshuram Municipality-6, and Dhan Raj Bhatta (14), Ratnadevi Bhatta (50), Harish Bhatta (13), Janakraj Bhatta (45), and Laxmi Bhatta (17), all from Parshuram Municipality–7, informed Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Chakra Raj Joshi of the District Police Office, Dadeldhura.

The injured have been undergoing treatment at the Jogbudha Hospital with Bela Devi Dhami and Maya Devi Dhami being in critical condition.
