KATHMANDU, JULY 11

Nepal's coronavirus caseload reached 655,449 on Sunday with 1,237 more people testing positive for the infection in the past 24 hours.

Meanwhile, the total coronavirus recoveries stand at 619,814 with 1,533 discharges logged today.

On the other hand, the countrywide Covid-19 mortality toll shifted to 9,382 with 20 more fatalities.

As per the latest data provided by the health ministry, 9,218 total tests were conducted in the last 24 hours of which 5,535 were PCR tests while 3,683 were antigen tests. With this, a total of 3, 415,475 PCR tests have been carried out till date.

Similarly, antigen tests have confirmed 594 positive cases in the past 24 hours. The total number of single-day infections from both the RT-PCR and antigen tests amount to 1,831.

Nepal's Covid-19 recovery rate stands at 94.6 %, while the fatality rate stands at 1.5%.

The country's active Covid-19 case count currently is 26,173 with daily recoveries exceeding daily infections.

The capital recorded as many as 263 infections today while Lalitpur and Bhaktapur recorded 97 and 31 respectively.

So far, a total of 3,653,173 people have received coronavirus vaccine across the country, of which 2,611,807 have received the first dose while only 1,041,366 individuals have been inoculated with both the doses and are fully vaccinated.

Currently, there are 304 individuals in various quarantine facilities across Nepal.

On Saturday, Nepal's coronavirus case count had reached 654,212 with 1,353 more people testing positive for the infection.

Globally, over 187 million people have been infected by the novel coronavirus while 4 million people have lost their lives to the disease.

Likewise, over 171 million people have recovered while more than 11 million cases are still active.
