KATHMANDU, SEPTEMBER 01

Nepal's coronavirus caseload reached 764,295 on Wednesday with 1,648 more people testing positive for the infection in the past 24 hours.

Meanwhile, the total coronavirus recoveries stand at 719,336 with 3,030 discharges logged today.

On the other hand, the countrywide Covid-19 mortality toll increased to 10,770 with 20 more fatalities.

As per the latest data provided by the health ministry, 14,935 total tests were conducted in the last 24 hours of which 10,612 were PCR tests while 4,323 were antigen tests. With this, a total of 3,925,758 PCR tests have been carried out till date.

Similarly, antigen tests have confirmed 404 positive cases in the past 24 hours. The total number of single-day infections from both the RT-PCR and antigen tests amount to 2,052.

Nepal's Covid-19 recovery rate stands at 94.1%, while the fatality rate stands at 1.5%. The country's active Covid-19 case count currently is 34,189.

Currently, there are 311 individuals in various quarantine facilities across Nepal.

In the same time frame, 471 infections were reported in the capital city while Lalitpur and Bhaktapur reported 146 and 102 cases respectively.

On Tuesday, Nepal's coronavirus caseload had reached 762,647 with 1,523 people testing positive for the infection.

Globally, over 218 million people have been infected by the novel coronavirus while 4.5 million people have lost their lives to the disease.

Likewise, over 195 million people have recovered while more than 18 million cases are still active.
