KATHMANDU, AUGUST 15

Nepal's coronavirus caseload reached 732,272 on Sunday with 1,793 more people testing positive for the infection in the past 24 hours.

Meanwhile, the total coronavirus recoveries stand at 682,682 with 1,867 discharges logged today.

On the other hand, the countrywide Covid-19 mortality toll increased to 10,292 with 33 more fatalities.

As per the latest data provided by the health ministry, 12,106 total tests were conducted in the last 24 hours of which 8,088 were PCR tests while 4,018 were antigen tests. With this, a total of 3,757,572 PCR tests have been carried out till date.

Similarly, antigen tests have confirmed 419 positive cases in the past 24 hours. The total number of single-day infections from both the RT-PCR and antigen tests amount to 2,212.

Nepal's Covid-19 recovery rate stands at 93.2%, while the fatality rate stands at 1.5%. The country's active Covid-19 case count currently is 39,298.

So far, a total of 8,048,666 people has received coronavirus vaccine across the country, of which 4,684,509 have received the first dose while only 3,364,157 individuals have been inoculated with both the doses and are fully vaccinated.

In the same time frame, 522 infections were reported in the capital city while Lalitpur and Bhaktapur reported 152 and 66 cases respectively.

Currently, there are 419 individuals in various quarantine facilities across Nepal.

On Saturday, Nepal's coronavirus caseload had reached 730,479 with 1,947 more people testing positive for the infection.

Globally, over 207 million people have been infected by the novel coronavirus while 4.3 million people have lost their lives to the disease.

Likewise, over 186 million people have recovered while more than 17 million cases are still active.
