BAITADI: After a landslide buried a canal of the Kathmadi Micro Hydropower Project, locals of Shikharpur in Baitadi district have been living in the dark for the past few days.

Normal life in the district has been thrown out of gear after the landslide triggered by incessant rainfall buried the canal, said local Krishna Saud.

With the disruption of power, over 180 households of Shikharpur ward no 1, 2 and 3 are being compelled to stay in the dark.

The project was constructed in 2011/12.

Meanwhile, there is less chance to remove the landslide debris of the canal right now.
