RAUTAHAT: Two persons have been arrested on charge of gang raping a 25-year-old woman in Rautahat.

The suspects have been identified as Ajay Sah (25) and Bhuyel Sah (30) of Katariya VDC.

According to the Area Police Office, Garuda, the duo forcibly took the victim under control, took her to a sugarcane field and committed the crime.

The incident occurred when the victim had come out of her house to answer the call of nature.

Police informed that they nabbed the suspects after the victim filed a complaint at the Area Police Office, Garuda, following the incident.

According to Police Inspector Santu Lal Jayaswal, the victim had already carried out a health check-up at the District Hospital in Gaur.

The duo, during the interrogation, had accepted their crime, he said.

Plans are afoot to file a case against them under rape charge, Jayaswal informed.

It has been revealed that the duo had been following the victim for the past few days.

The victim’s husband is currently in Gulf country for employment.
