2 youth missing in Phewa Lake found dead
POKHARA: Two youth, who went missing in the Phewa Lake after a boat overturned on Monday, were found dead on Thursday.
According to Gajusiddhi Bajracharya, spokesperson at the District Police Office, Kaski, their bodies were found floating in the lake this morning.
Police said that Elin KC (23) of Basundhara was found dead at around 7 am while the body of Pratik Shrestha (19) of Chakrapath was found at around 8 am.
The bodies have been sent to the Western Regional Hospital, Pokhara, for postmortem.
There were eight persons on board the ill-fated boat when the incident occurred.
Six persons, including boat driver, were rescued by security personnel immediately after the incident.
Among the six persons who were rescued, Saugat Shrestha, Samrat Gautam, Roshan Neupane and Deepak Neupane of Kathmandu, and Bidur Dhital of Makwanpur have been discharged from the Gandaki Medical College.
Boat driver Ganga Basnet is still receiving treatment, police said.
