1333 discharged in 24 hours, pandemic claims 28 additional lives

Nepal's coronavirus caseload reached 650,162 on Wednesday with 2,077 more people testing positive for the infection in the past 24 hours.

Meanwhile, the total coronavirus recoveries stand at 614,327 with 1,333 discharges accounted today.

On the other hand, the countrywide Covid-19 mortality toll shifted to 9,291 with 28 more fatalities.

As per the latest data provided by the health ministry, 11,898 total tests were conducted in the last 24 hours of which 7,835were PCR tests while 4,063 were antigen tests. With this, a total of 3,391,379 PCR tests have been carried out till date.

Similarly, antigen tests have confirmed 902 positive cases in the past 24 hours. The total number of single-day infections from both the RT-PCR and antigen tests amount to 2,979.

Nepal's Covid-19 recovery rate stands at 94.5 %, while the fatality rate stands at 1.5%.

The country's active Covid-19 case count has dropped to 26,544 with daily recoveries exceeding daily infections.

In the same time frame, 390 infections were reported in the capital city while Lalitpur and Bhaktapur reported 86 and 67 cases respectively.

So far, a total of 3,463,107 people have received coronavirus vaccine across the country, of which 2,611,807 have received the first dose while only 851,300 individuals have been inoculated with both the doses and are fully vaccinated.

Currently, there are 323 individuals in various quarantine facilities across Nepal.

On Tuesday, Nepal's coronavirus case count had reached 646,367 with 1,718 more people testing positive for the infection.

Globally, over 185 million people have been infected by the novel coronavirus while 4 million people have lost their lives to the disease.

Likewise, over 169 million people have recovered while more than 11 million cases are still active.
