KATHMANDU: Nepal on Thursday reported 213 new cases of coronavirus infection from across the country. With this, the nationwide infection count has advanced to 270,588.
Of the total cases, 88 are females while 125 are males.
In the last 24 hours, 123 cases surfaced in Kathmandu valley. The capital hosts the highest number of active cases.
Likewise, 296 people who were earlier infected with the virus are reported to have recovered in the past 24 hours as per the latest data provided by health ministry. As of today, 265,365 individuals have recovered from the novel coronavirus infection. The recovery rate, as such, is 98.1 per cent.
Nepal's active Covid-19 case count currently stands at 3,203.
In a positive turn of events, no fatalities from the disease were recorded in the past 24 hours. The current total nationwide death-toll stands at 2,020.
According to the health ministry, 3,791 PCR tests were conducted in the last 24 hours. With this, a total of 2,060,860 PCR tests have been carried out in Nepal till date.
Currently, there are 113 individuals in various quarantine facilities across Nepal.
On Wednesday, Nepal's coronavirus case count reached 270,375 with 283 newly confirmed cases.
Globally, over 101 million people have contracted the virus till date while 2.18 million deaths have been reported. Likewise, over 73 million people have recovered from Covid-19 while over 25 million cases are still active.
