KATHMANDU, DECEMBER 11
As many as 22 passengers were injured after a passenger bus skidded off the road and plunged into the river at Kaudiyapul in Lamahi Municipality-1 along the East-West Highway this morning.
According to police, the incident occurred when the bus (Na 8 Kha 7455), en route from Dadeldhura to Kathmandu, lost control and plunged into the river from the bridge.
Immediately, a team of rescue personnel from the Nepal Police, Armed Police Force, and Nepali Army was deployed to the incident site, where they rescued the injured personnel along with local residents. They were rushed to the Lamahi Hospital, where they are undergoing treatment.
It has been learnt that there were 38 passengers on the bus at the time of the incident.
Further investigation into the incident is underway, police said.
